With 27 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Yocum is a partner in the equine veterinary firm Blackey & Yocum of Versailles, KY, previously serving as general manager and chief veterinarian at Overbrook Farm, and veterinarian at Hagyard-Davidson-McGee Associates.

Dr. Yocum is the past president of the Kentucky Association of Equine Practitioners, and is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in equine reproduction. He earned a D.V.M. from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Kentucky, where he was graduated with honors.
